Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Tip Split mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

Description of Service

Tip Split is a mobile application that helps users:

  • Calculate tips on bills and receipts
  • Split expenses evenly or by group size
  • Track shared expenses during trips
  • Scan receipts using device camera
  • Calculate optimized settlement payments

The App is provided as a convenience tool and all calculations should be verified by users.

License to Use

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App on your personal mobile device for your personal, non-commercial use.

User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the App only for lawful purposes
  • Verify all calculations before making financial decisions
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Not use the App to infringe on others' rights
  • Not redistribute, sell, or sublicense the App
  • Keep your device secure to protect your data

Accuracy of Calculations

While we strive to ensure the accuracy of all calculations performed by Tip Split, you acknowledge that:

  • The App is provided as a convenience tool
  • You are responsible for verifying all calculations
  • Receipt scanning uses AI technology and may not be 100% accurate
  • Rounding differences may occur in split calculations
  • Currency conversions, if any, may not reflect real-time exchange rates

We recommend double-checking all amounts before settling expenses with others.

Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, code, graphics, and content, is owned by Tip Split and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our express written permission.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY
  • FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
  • NON-INFRINGEMENT
  • ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF CALCULATIONS

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TIP SPLIT AND ITS DEVELOPERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of profits or revenue
  • Loss of data
  • Financial losses from incorrect calculations
  • Disputes arising from expense splitting
  • Any other intangible losses

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (if any).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Tip Split and its developers from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

Updates and Modifications

We may update the App from time to time to add features, fix bugs, or improve performance. We may also modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the App.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the appropriate courts.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Tip Split regarding the use of the App and supersede any prior agreements.
